When a Teacher leaves such a large body of work behind, like 5,000 video, audio and text items, it might be helpful to find a place to start. Hence the blog, but be mindful that the original material is there to just jump in.

I have practiced Zen self inquiry for five years under a Zen teacher. Somehow, I have been locked in on a plateau and could not get out of it. After listening to Jan Cox, I had a break through.
At first, I found the volume of words so annoying. Spritual speakers are not supposed to talk so much. I also found the accent so out of place. They sound so rough and so firm. The video of the bare chest was also a turn off.
I converted the flv files to mp3 and took them on my long walks. They work on me. All of the goals that zen practictioners in me were working towards suddenly were realized. I experienced bouts of withdrawals so intense just like those other prior phases of zen training. I can't say enough that this Jan Cox now part of my zen training.
